We want to encourage play!
The Canadian physical activity guidelines state that children need at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day. Being active can improve physical and mental health, fitness and overall well-being. Moreover, it can help children perform better academically, improve self-confidence and build self-esteem. It’s also a great way to make new friends and build strong, meaningful connections.
Statistics show that 60% of children aren’t meeting their daily recommended physical activity. Project Playalot encourages children to participate in a physically, mentally, and socially stimulating environment. As life gets busier and technology becomes more prevalent than ever, it can be difficult to get away from electronics and simply, play! Our mission is to lessen the barriers families face that deter children from staying active. We want to support busy parents, provide opportunities for children to thrive, and better our community by promoting a healthier lifestyle!
